– Stressed? –

Stressed Spelled Backwards Equals D-e-s-s-e-r-t-s -Temple Hayes-

When we were kids we had so many structured “taking care “me time”. We had time at recess and physical education and time to draw and question and play with friends. As adults, we need to remember this reality and attempt to put it into perspective. Life is not interesting and motivating if we only work and have no play or ME time. If you take the words:
AccomplishMEnt
AchieveMEnt
TiME
MEmory
EmpowerMEnt

…they all share the word ME

ME time doesn’t have to be for long periods of time. In stress management we use to identify with all kinds of ideas that could help by keeping it simple:

A walk around the building at the office or hospital
Taking different roads to our work
Humorous gadgets for the workplace that we could use to tease coworkers or patients
Pets that give us love and energy
A movie day
Time near or at the water
Exercise
Blowing bubbles
Writing a note to someone you haven’t spoken to in awhile
Mend your heart
Forgive yourself
Take a dance class
Do Taebo
Watch a comedy
Look for a butterfly
Get out in Nature

Do something different every week even if it’s just buying something new at the grocery store.
Buy yourself a small gift or get something you’ve always wanted…lay it away if necessary. However, do not go out of your means……that adds stress.

We learn techniques, styles, and ways of communicating with the opposite sex so we can ultimately be heard and feel connected. We have more information than we have ever had,…

Carrying What I Don’t Need

Carrying What I Don’t Need

I think back to my Army days. All those foot marches and all the pain associated with them. As a young private I packed pretty much everything I could before we went out. I wanted to make sure I had all the comforts to help make life easier. I made sure to have extra meals,…

Living in the Absolute and the Relative

Living in the Absolute and the Relative

Siddhartha did not wake up being shielded to real, authentic life as a human being. He saw what was real to others and was guided to understand the way of suffering and of peace because he could sit in both realities. Every day we hear stories that are beyond shocking and within many of us…

“Which One Are You?”

“Which One Are You?”

By Poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox There are just two kinds of people on earth today, Just two kinds of people, no more, I say. Not the rich and the poor, for to count a man’s wealth You must first know the state of his conscience and health. Not the humble and proud, for, in life’s…
