A Ritual for the Path of My Faith

rear view
Cup hands full of consciousness
Face where you have been (in the past)
I face the path of my faith
This is the way I’ve come,
The journey my soul has taken to bring me where I am today.
I recall the people I’ve met on this path,
Teachers all.
Kind and Unkind-
Whatever they did, they walked with me awhile
And showed me the path
I bless their being and their teaching.
I remember events and encounters along the way,
Pleasant or painful,
Always instructive,
Whatever happened, it was useful –
And in its own integrity, it was beautiful-
I learned to follow my own path.
I learned where I must go.
I bless the path of my past…
Turn back on the past.
Holding my present in my own hands,
I face my future now –
I face a new path every morning-
Every day I step forward on an unknown path –
A unique path –
Guided and supported by the Spirit within me –
In its presence, past and future are one time-
And I’m where I am supposed to be.
Now and always, my path is in Spirit.

Beings of Light

Beings of Light

We are not designed to grow old; we are created to grow up and out as beings of light. Some would call this the lightness of being or taking yourself lightly. Whether or not you believe in the Bible, when the Creator said, “Let there be light,” the Creator was talking about you. Even Jesus…

Are You Awake?

Are You Awake?

First, you must realize you are asleep, then you are awake. Then you must die, so you can be born. You can not be born until you die and you can not die until you wake. Jungian psychology I have always enjoyed the story of a multitude of people with Buddha wanting to know how…

Lesson of the Sequoia Tree

Lesson of the Sequoia Tree

The Methodist Class Meeting was much like the Giant Sequoia Trees in California. Just like the Methodist Class Meeting, the Great Sequoias “hold each other up.” They may reach a height of 311 feet, an age of 3200 years. They often weigh 2.7 million pounds. Their bark on the average is 31 inches thick. Their…
