As Spiritual Beings, We Are The VALIDATORIANS.

As Spiritual Beings, We Are The VALIDATORIANS.

George Burns once said that if we asked lots of people in the world what would make them happier, you’d get answers like a new car, a bigger house, a raise in pay, winning a lottery, a face-lift, more kids, less kids – probably not more than a hundred people would say a chance to help people. And yet that may bring the most happiness of all.

Ultimately, how can we truly help others. We can offer temporary relief to an individual who is in pain or undergoing difficult times. We can offer to pray for people and sit with them during their moments of sadness. One of the greatest healing ingredients to add in someone’s life is to validate them. As spiritual beings, we are the VALIDATORIANS.

When we validate where someone is and from that love, safe and sacred space there is a healing that can occur. Most people are longing to know that they matter and someone hears them. How many times in your own life have you had a medical concern and the real relief came when the doctor said, “This isn’t anything to be concerned about.” It is such a relief when the doctor validates your diagnosis. We long to know that we are loved just as we are.

Life is calling upon us everyday to live and give more of who we are. There is an inner calling, a silent voice wanting us to validate the truth of our nature and we reflect this consciousness by the way we empower and take care of ourselves. As I validate the value of my own Divine consciousness by taking care of my physical and emotional life, I experience more of my Holy-ness.

In traveling around the country and teaching stress management classes, it shocked me to discover how difficult it is for most people to take care of themselves. And yet, if we could learn to work with our values in life, we would see that the greatest impact we can have upon others is to live a life worth living and set an example.

Jack Boland, a great Unity minister in writing the Mastermind Principles finished the 8th step with the following idea: I dedicate myself to be of maximum service to God and those around me, to live a manner that sets the highest example for others to follow and to remain responsive to God’s guidance always.

To me the greatest joy we can bring to our spiritual nature is knowing our inner worth and giving to this life the joy of living. We experience happiness by helping others and we help others by discovering who we are.

What Does Your Mirror Reflect?

What Does Your Mirror Reflect?

I have been doing christening ceremonies for the past twenty-three years, and each time I invite everyone from the immediate “village,” who are there to support the child to come into a circle. I always ask, “What do you wish and pray for with this child?” The answers come quickly: to live his dreams, to…

Chipping Away

Chipping Away

As we do our work…. Imagine your life as a giant block of stone. The stone has potential and purpose, but in its current form, it doesn’t speak to your soul. So you get out a chisel and start chipping. You chip away bad habits. You chip away unnecessary material goods. You chip away ideals…
