Money is the root of all evil… or is it?

Money is the root of all evil… or is it?

I have found from my own experience that when people say money doesn’t matter and they don’t care about it, what they are really saying is that they have yet to understand how to create it for themselves and so therefore they are just disowning the reality that it can actually matter. There is so much judgment in our world about people who have money, yet if you desire to have an effect on the world at all—whether by saving animals, working to end pollution in our oceans, contributing to our planet in any way, or just being there for a neighbor—it takes money to do that.

Money is not the only thing that is important and significant, yet it matters a great deal. If we really believed it is our Creator’s pleasure to give us the kingdom in the twenty-first century, we would celebrate having a way of communicating energy and abundance. We would celebrate being self-supportive and having the ability to offer solutions to causes in our lives.

The issue is never money itself, but the limited belief that people have about money. I ask the universe to provide me with more money all the time, not because I need another thing but because it will give me the ability to use it to help empower someone, to feed a child, or to save an animal. I always tell people, “If you don’t want more money, give it to me—I have lots of ways to use it.” The truth sets us free when we are coming from the vibration of what is really true. As the author M. Scott Peck once said, “The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”

Prayer Paths

Prayer Paths

In one region of Africa, the first converts to Christianity were very diligent about praying. In fact, the believers each had their own special place outside the village where they went to pray in solitude. The villagers reached these “prayer rooms” by using their own private footpaths through the brush. When grass began to grow…

A Full Life

A Full Life

We have sacrificed the true message of Jesus that says know your connection to your true Father/Creator and you can have a life full of miracles. We have been taught a very misguided and misleading message that has caused us to live a miracle of being dead while we are alive. We have sacrificed a…

What is Sacred

What is Sacred

We have gone amiss by losing the sacred art of ancient rituals and symbols in our culture. It is evident that we want these rituals and symbols, however, because of the popularity of books by J. K. Rowling and Dan Brown and films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones. We long…

What is atonement?

What is atonement?

In traditional Christianity, atonement is the reconciliation of sinful men and women to God through the death of Jesus. In Unity, we do not recognize a need to be reconciled with God because we are all created in God’s image and likeness. As human beings we are the microcosm of the macrocosm, created to express our unique…
