Try Using Your Imagination

Try Using Your Imagination

“Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 11:24

Several years ago, I was training employees at a healthcare facility when one nurse asked to see me during lunch. “I don’t know why I feel so strongly about showing these photos to you but I feel you need to see these. They are photos of my trip to Claude Monet’s home and my visit to Paris, France. She described each photo in detail and told me what to enjoy while I was visiting there. One day you’ll be in Europe and you’ll want to do all these things while you’re there.”

Shortly after my encounter with the nurse, I purchased a poster for my home of the path at Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France. The beauty of the flowers, the vast countryside and the feeling of peace would touch me each time I would pass by the poster. In May of 2000, I was at Monet’s Garden walking on the same path and all of a sudden I felt the memory of the many times I had passed the poster which had become reality. I also recalled the conversations with the nurse and remembered so many of the photos she showed me of Paris. My vision had become reality. The positive imagery and the consistent affirmations had brought me to the real experience. As we say in Unity, “Thoughts held in mind produce their own kind.”

As stated by Stretton Smith, “One aspect of the ignition switch that converts the God energy within you into whatever it is that you desire is imagination.”

When you see it, it is. When you see it changed, it is changed. This is your faith faculty at work. Imagination is one of the most important mind powers that you can use to construct the world in which you want to live. The more vivid your imagination, the easier it is for you to believe.

You determine the form and the content of this kind of imagination. You can deliberately will a new idea out of your own conscious mind. Alice in Lewis Carroll’s book, Alice in Wonderland, told the Queen,” One can’t believe impossible things.” But the Queen responded, “I dare say you haven’t had much practice. Why sometimes, I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

The Absolute

The Absolute

Is “Absolute” another word for God? Yes. The absolute truth is: God is the only presence and power in the universe. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. God is law,and law is God. God is love and love is God.As absolute being, God is unlimited, unconditional, infinite, impersonal, yet…

Do we believe that our words have power?

Do we believe that our words have power?

People often think of affirmations as glorified “positive thinking.” In Unity, we believe the words we declare to be our truth become our truth. As we grow spiritually, we become more aware of the words we use to define ourselves. We become sensitive to the seeds we are planting in our daily lives. The words “I am”…

Higher State of Mind

Higher State of Mind

So many people have come to accept death as a way of life. People die a little each day when they get up in the morning and start their day with the focus of what is missing, then they go to get the newspaper which tells them there is not enough oil, air, life, and…

Prayer Paths

Prayer Paths

In one region of Africa, the first converts to Christianity were very diligent about praying. In fact, the believers each had their own special place outside the village where they went to pray in solitude. The villagers reached these “prayer rooms” by using their own private footpaths through the brush. When grass began to grow…
