Your Imagination is Powerful… Use It Wisely!

Several years ago, I was training employees at a healthcare facility when one nurse asked to see me during lunch. “I don’t know why I feel so strongly about showing these photos to you but I feel you need to see these. They are photos of my trip to Claude Monet’s home and my visit to Paris, France. She described each photo in detail and told me what to enjoy while I was visiting there. One day you’ll be in Europe and you’ll want to do all these things while you’re there.”

Shortly after my encounter with the nurse, I purchased a poster for my home of the path at Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France. The beauty of the flowers, the vast countryside and the feeling of peace would touch me each time I would pass by the poster. In May of 2000, I was at Monet’s Garden walking on the same path and all of a sudden I felt the memory of the many times I had passed the poster which had become reality. I also recalled the conversations with the nurse and remembered so many of the photos she showed me of Paris. My vision had become reality. The positive imagery and the consistent affirmations had brought me to the real experience. As we say in Unity, “Thoughts held in mind produce their own kind.”

As stated by Stretton Smith, “One aspect of the ignition switch that converts the God energy within you into whatever it is that you desire is imagination.”

When you see it, it is. When you see it changed, it is changed. This is your faith faculty at work. Imagination is one of the most important mind powers that you can use to construct the world in which you want to live. The more vivid your imagination, the easier it is for you to believe.

You determine the form and the content of this kind of imagination. You can deliberately will a new idea out of your own conscious mind. Alice in Lewis Carroll’s book, Alice in Wonderland, told the Queen,” One can’t believe impossible things.” But the Queen responded, “I dare say you haven’t had much practice. Why sometimes, I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Beings of Light

Beings of Light

We are not designed to grow old; we are created to grow up and out as beings of light. Some would call this the lightness of being or taking yourself lightly. Whether or not you believe in the Bible, when the Creator said, “Let there be light,” the Creator was talking about you. Even Jesus…

Are You Awake?

Are You Awake?

First, you must realize you are asleep, then you are awake. Then you must die, so you can be born. You can not be born until you die and you can not die until you wake. Jungian psychology I have always enjoyed the story of a multitude of people with Buddha wanting to know how…

Lesson of the Sequoia Tree

Lesson of the Sequoia Tree

The Methodist Class Meeting was much like the Giant Sequoia Trees in California. Just like the Methodist Class Meeting, the Great Sequoias “hold each other up.” They may reach a height of 311 feet, an age of 3200 years. They often weigh 2.7 million pounds. Their bark on the average is 31 inches thick. Their…

Don’t Give Up

Have you ever heard the statement,” My life is falling apart so it can come together in a new way”? There are times right before we give up that things fall into place. Steven Covey emphasizes that in order to achieve success, you must keep the end in mind. Ask yourself where you would like…
